Ingredients:

  • Olive oil as needed
  • ½ sweet onion, diced
  • ½ C celery, diced
  • ½ C carrots, diced
  • 2-3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 lbs. ground chicken
  • 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce
  • 1/2 – 2/3 C buffalo sauce (adjust per preference)
  • 1 ½ T Worcestershire sauce
  • Hot dogs as needed
  • Buns as needed
  • 2 T blue cheese dressing (per hot dog)
  • ½ C blue cheese, crumbled
  • Parsley to garnish
  • Salt & pepper to tasrw

For the Buffalo Chicken Sloppy Joe:

  1. Add oil to a skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the onions, carrots, and celery and cook until tender. Add the garlic, cooking until fragrant.
  2. Move the vegetables to the side of the skillet and add in the ground chicken, making sure to break up into bits throughout the process. Once cooked through, add the tomato sauce, buffalo sauce, and Worcestershire sauce. Reduce the heat to medium low and simmer for 10-15 minutes. Once thickened, season with salt & pepper to taste and set aside.

For the hot dogs:

  1. Set grill to high setting (in 500-degree range). Once preheated, place the hot dogs on the grill and cook until a nice char has developed on each side, flipping as needed.
  2. Remove the hot dogs from the grill and shut down the grill if applicable.

To Finish:

  1. Place a hot dog bun on a plate and slather with blue cheese dressing. Add the hot dog and top with the sloppy joe mixture. Garnish with blue cheese crumbles and parsley. Serve & enjoy!
